FAQ

1. How should I study with Japanese cheat sheets?

Technically, cheat sheets are not meant for studying.

You learn Japanese through however you choose to learn — whether apps or Japanese textbooks. The cheat sheets are more for support and review… so that you can remind yourself, quickly glance, and remember certain phrases or grammar points. They don’t replace learning but support learning and retention.

2. How should I use these cheat sheets?

In my opinion, you’ll get the most value from printing them out and keeping them in your notebook. Saving them to your device guarantees you’ll never look at ’em again.

In terms of actual reviewing, just glance through for a few minutes – say the words out loud, close your eyes and say the words and their meanings, write ’em out if you want — but whichever you do, do it often.

3. Do you have a cheat sheet for <something?> If I don’t have something, leave me a comment and I’ll look into making it.

4. How often do you put up new ones? I want to know. I’d like to think often enough. But I figure you won’t remember to visit this page and will likely forget about Linguajunkie 🙁 So, if you do want to be notified when new cheat sheets are added… leave me a comment below. If there’s enough interest, I’ll set up a newsletter.

Oh yeah, and if you want a fun and easy way to learn Japanese.

For that, I recommend JapanesePod101 for their conversation-based lessons. Unlike other apps like Duolingo, you’re not playing word games… instead you’re listening to real native speakers having conversations… and then the teachers in the lesson explain every word so that you understand it and start speaking Japanese yourself.
